On 2018 and newer Gen 3 and Gen 4 engines the \u003ca href=\"\/products\/2018-mustang-gt-vct-actuator-delete-sold-in-pairs\"\u003eVCT actuator deletes\u003c\/a\u003e (EN041) close a different set of openings, so those engines need both. Once the cams are locked a standalone ECU only needs one \u003ca href=\"\/products\/bps-coyote-camshaft-sensor-2011\"\u003ecam sensor\u003c\/a\u003e, and the remaining ports take \u003ca href=\"\/products\/bps-camshaft-sensor-block-offs-2011-2021-mustang\"\u003ecam sensor block-offs\u003c\/a\u003e (EN007).\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eLocked cams also load the secondary drive harder than stock. The factory plastic \u003ca href=\"\/products\/bps-2011-coyote-secondary-chain-guides\"\u003esecondary chain guides\u003c\/a\u003e (EN045) are the first thing to go, and the \u003ca href=\"\/products\/bps-heavy-duty-secondary-timing-chains-2011-2020-mustang\"\u003eheavy duty secondary chains\u003c\/a\u003e (EN015) belong in the same teardown.
